Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I'm Kalhil "KJ" Adames, co-founder of Kin. We're a team of two, and today we're incredibly excited to introduce something we've been building and thinking about for a long time. Over the last few years, AI has become incredibly powerful. It's beginning to understand our preferences, remember our conversations, and become part of our everyday lives. But there's a question we believe deserves more attention: As AI learns more about our lives, who should own that intelligence? We believe the answer should be simple. You should. That's why we built Kin. Kin is a new kind of Family Intelligence. Instead of another AI assistant living on someone else's servers, Kin turns a computer in your home into your family's own private AI. Our vision goes beyond individual conversations with a chatbot. We want AI to understand the people, relationships, plans, and memories that make every household unique. An intelligence that grows with your family, helps you navigate everyday life, and remembers what matters over time. And we believe that intelligence should live with the people it belongs to. 🏠 Runs locally. Kin runs on a computer you own, right in your home. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Built for families. Designed around the relationships and shared experiences that connect people. 🧠 Memory that matters. Built to bring continuity and context to your family's everyday life. 🔒Private by design. Your family's intelligence stays under your control. 💚 Free software. No subscription required. Just a compatible computer. A little about me: I've spent much of my career deploying creative technologies around the world, creating immersive experiences, building intelligent spaces, and exploring how technology can become a more natural and meaningful part of our environments. With Kin, I'm bringing that same philosophy into the home. Apple and others are helping make personal intelligence mainstream. We believe the next step is "Family Intelligence", where AI doesn't just understand an individual, but can support the people who share a life together. We're still early, and there's a lot we want to learn. So we'd love to hear from you: If your family had its own private AI, what would you want it to remember, understand, or help you with? We'll be here answering questions, sharing how Kin works, and listening to your feedback. Thanks for being part of the beginning. ❤️ Your life. Your family. Your intelligence. https://meetkin.app
