I designed kikoship to solve a resell clothing/shoes shipping problem. It's too expensive to ship express, it takes too long to receive your items, and it's wasteful. During the COVID era, I was buying and reselling clothing items and paying enormous shipping fees, which included customs charges and waiting weeks and sometimes a couple months to receive stuff. On several occasions, I wondered if there was an affordable courier service that could deliver what I ordered or sold, and I didn't discover any. So, after graduating architecture school, I got accustomed to solving problems, and I came up with a solution. That's how kikoship was born.
kikoship is a marketplace that uses the crowdshipping delivery mode, where travelers act as couriers to transport preloved clothing items from sellers to buyers. We focus on preloved fashion items only, which also reduces CO₂ emissions by leveraging existing travel plans to the following nine fashion hubs: Berlin, Copenhagen, London, Milan, Paris, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, and Tokyo. kikoship also enables a connection between all participants, as the traveler, with pre-existing travel plans, meets the seller and buyer during their travel. It's a great way to meet or connect with locals, while earning money per transport.
