Apple's Magic Keyboard pairs with one computer at a time. KeyShuttle moves it between your Mac and your Windows PC with one shortcut – no re-pairing, no cables, no KVM. Shut one down and the keyboard follows. Local network only. 14-day free trial.
I'm Matej from Slovenia. My desk has a Mac mini and a Windows PC, and I love Apple's Magic Keyboard – except that it only remembers one computer. Every switch meant forgetting it on one machine and pairing it on the other.
KeyShuttle automates that. Press ⌃⌥⌘K and the keyboard hops to the other computer in a few seconds, then back again with the same keys (Ctrl+Alt+Win+K on Windows).
A few details:
• Works Mac ↔ Windows (other switchers only do Mac ↔ Mac)
• Shut down one computer and the keyboard moves to the other automatically
• Wake a computer with the mouse and the keyboard comes to it
• If a hand-over ever fails, the keyboard comes straight back – plus a one-click "Fix Keyboard Connection"
• The two apps talk only on your local network – no cloud, no account
• Mac app is signed and notarized; both apps update themselves
• $9.99 one-time for one Mac + one PC, 14-day free trial
Next on the list is Magic Mouse and Trackpad support. I'd love to hear what setups you'd use this with – and anything that doesn't work for you.
