We built it because we kept typing caffeinate in the terminal to stop our Macs sleeping during long downloads and builds, and we wanted something simpler that lives in the menu bar and that anyone can use.
Keep Awake is tiny and native (Swift/AppKit). With one click it stops your Mac from sleeping. You can:
• Keep the screen on, or let it sleep while the Mac keeps working
• Turn it off automatically on a timer, or when a chosen app quits
• Toggle it from anywhere with a global keyboard shortcut (no Accessibility permission needed)
• Open at login and have it remember your settings
It works on macOS 13 and later (Apple silicon), and it updates itself.
