Hi Product Hunt! I'm Katana Screener, a solo developer and individual investor in Japan.
Screeners only let you filter on the metrics they give you. The part that decides whether a company really fits my thesis (what it makes, how it sells, what it's betting on) lives in the annual report, and I used to read those one company at a time.
Katana does that step across ~3,800 Japanese listed companies:
• Describe the companies you want, or start from one you know (in the video: UNIQLO's parent, Fast Retailing)
• AI turns it into numeric filters, which you can edit or extend with your own formulas, plus questions for the filings
• It reads each company's annual report from EDINET, Japan's official disclosure system, and shows the passage behind every match
