Hey Product Hunt, I'm Ramazan, the creator of Kaskas. Today I'm sharing Kaskas with everyone, and I'm genuinely excited to bring it to the Product Hunt community. Here's the problem that got me here. Most of us spend eight to ten hours a day staring at screens, pushing through fatigue and eye strain until we burn out. There is no shortage of timer and break apps out there, but most of them feel like a compromise. They are often heavy Electron wrappers consuming excessive memory, apps requiring yet another account and subscription, or blunt overlays that abruptly lock your screen right in the middle of an email or during a presentation. Kaskas takes a completely different path. It is built strictly native for macOS using Swift and SwiftUI. It lives quietly in your menu bar, launches instantly, uses minimal system resources, and respects your focus instead of fighting with it. A few principles that define Kaskas: Native and lightweight: It feels like an integral part of macOS. No web tech under the hood, just fast, responsive native components. Smart and non-intrusive: A break reminder shouldn't break your train of thought. Kaskas detects when you are actively typing, participating in a video call, or watching a video, and intelligently delays breaks until you are actually ready to pause. Local-first and private: There are no accounts, no subscriptions, and zero analytics. Your focus history, study sessions, and application statistics never leave your Mac. Open and accessible: Kaskas is completely free and open source under GPLv2. You can inspect the code, build it yourself, or download the signed and notarized DMG directly from GitHub. One thing I would genuinely love your take on: how do you currently deal with eye strain and screen fatigue during deep-work days? And what is the one thing that would make a break reminder truly seamless for your daily routine? Thanks for taking a look. I'm looking forward to reading your feedback and building this in the open with you.

Kaskas was hunted by Ramazan Özbek. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
