I'm a big fan of perfumes, but my collection isn't actually that big. Even so, whenever I'm about to head out, I always find myself automatically grabbing the same two or three favorites. Sadly, the rest of my beautiful bottles just sit on the shelf gathering dust, and sometimes I even forget why I bought them in the first place!
To solve this daily "What should I wear today?" problem, and to have a nice, peaceful place to keep track of my collection, I decided to build a little iOS app called Kaori (which means "fragrance" in Japanese). I spent a lot of time working on the design, trying my best to combine Apple's guidelines with a simple, clean Japanese style. I really hope it feels cozy and easy for you to use!
There are already many amazing perfume apps out there, but Kaori is a bit different. It isn't filled with endless reviews, scores, or annoying pop-ups trying to sell you things. It’s very simple—just a quiet, private space to log your own bottles and the memories tied to them. No noise, no social pressure, just you and your scents.
Since I am just starting out, Kaori's features are still pretty basic right now. But I have some exciting plans! I am already working on adding some insights about your perfume habits, beautiful Home Screen widgets, and more details about ingredients. I would be so happy if you joined me on this scent journey.
