Hi Product Hunt! I'm Vincent, and I built kanari after realizing that industrial AI fire detection costs tens of thousands of euros per camera with a 20 km range, while satellite data covering the whole planet is free and public.
kanari watches the Earth continuously: NASA VIIRS and MODIS, NOAA GOES read straight from the raw feed every 10 minutes, Meteosat MTG over Europe. A new thermal anomaly becomes a fire event on the map within minutes, often before authorities communicate.
Witness reports are verified by AI (photo analysis), firefighting aircraft are tracked live via ADS-B, and spread cones combine wind and terrain slope.
Everything is free and will stay free. The full fire archive is open data (CC BY 4.0) with a public API. I would love your feedback, and I answer every comment today!
