Nitish here — I built Kalaeido over the past month because I kept running into the same problem as a visual creator: I'd pick up my camera, want to shoot something meaningful, and then just... stand there. No direction. No constraint. No one to work alongside.
The insight that drove this: my best work never came from total creative freedom. It came from constraints. "Shoot only in harsh light this week." "Find geometry in chaos." Focused prompts force you to actually see differently.
For every other skill — coding, music, fitness, writing — there's a structured place to practice with a community. Photography had Reddit for conversation, Instagram for highlights, but nothing that said: here's today's challenge, here's what everyone else saw, now discuss.
So I built it.
What Kalaeido does:
Daily + weekly challenges across photography, videography, and AI art
Real creative briefs with acceptance criteria, not just a vague theme
Submit your work, see how others interpreted the same prompt
Streaks, badges, leaderboard — because consistency is the whole game
Community forum to discuss craft, not just collect likes
What I'm working on next:
Videography challenges are at the top of my list. That's an area close to my heart and there's a real gap there. If you have thoughts on what good video challenge structure looks like, I want to hear it.
What I need from you:
Sign up. Try a challenge or two. Tell me honestly — what's working, what's broken, what's missing. I'm here all day to answer questions and genuinely want this shaped by people who care about their craft, not just me.
Also — if you have ideas on how to grow something like this sustainably, I'm all ears. I'm a genuine believer in what this can become and want to build it with the right people.
