Hey Product Hunt 👋 I’m Satvik, the maker of Kafui.
We used KaDeck to manage our Kafka clusters. It’s a good tool, but it got expensive, and the free tier only covers one cluster, which isn’t enough once you’re working across more than one. So I built Kafui.
Kafui is a desktop app that talks directly to your Kafka brokers. You install it, add your clusters, and start working.
What you can do today (v0.3.0):
Clusters: save multiple clusters, test connections, and see brokers and configuration at a glance
Topics: browse, create, clone, rename, configure, and add partitions
Messages: browse, produce, and live-tail, in a viewer built for JSON and other payloads
Consumer groups: check per-partition lag, see members and assignments, and reset or delete offsets
A few things I cared about:
Nothing to host. There’s no server to run and no account to create.
Your credentials stay put. Cluster settings and credentials stay on your machine, and Kafui connects over your own network or VPN.
One installer. It includes everything Kafui needs, including its own Java runtime.
It runs on macOS, Windows, and Linux, and it’s completely free to download, multiple clusters included.
I’d love to hear what’s missing from your Kafka workflow, and which feature you’d want next. I’ll be here all day answering questions.
