I'm Alperen, the creator of k8scan.
I built k8scan after spending years working in offensive security, cloud security, and Kubernetes environments. One thing I kept seeing was that most Kubernetes security tools generate long lists of findings, but they don't explain how those findings can actually be combined and exploited by an attacker.
I wanted to build a tool that goes beyond simple scanning and helps security teams understand real attack paths inside their clusters.
What started as a small Kubernetes security scanner gradually evolved into a platform with 123+ security checks, attack path analysis, privilege escalation detection, and container escape modeling through the Capability Break Engine.
k8scan is fully open source, and I'm excited to finally share it with the community. I'd love to hear your feedback, ideas, and suggestions.

Finally a k8s scanner that actually shows how a finding turns into an attack path instead of dumping a giant checklist. The Capability Break Engine caught a privilege escalation chain in my test cluster that other tools just listed as separate warnings.
Really impressed after running this in a real environment. Instead of just dumping a massive list of alerts like Kubescape, showing the actual privilege escalation paths makes remediation so much easier. Awesome work, thanks a lot!

how does the capability break engine actually correlate findings into attack paths, is it rule based or something more dynamic? also curious if the on prem version has any feature gaps compared to the SaaS one.
ran it against one of our staging clusters and the attack path correlations were actually eye opening, caught a privilege escalation chain between two workloads i would have missed with basic kubescape checks.
