Jotline
The one-tap journal — every line timestamped, synced free
Open Jotline and you're already writing — every line is timestamped into a timeline of your day. No sign-up, no setup, and it syncs across your devices for free. The effortless way to journal that actually sticks. iPhone-first & free.
Hi Product Hunt 👋
I kept failing at journaling — not because I didn't want to, but because every app made me sign up and tap through menus before I could write one line. By the time I got there, the thought was gone.
So I built Jotline: open the app and you're already writing. No account, no list to pick, no New button — just the cursor, blinking, in today's page. Every line you type gets the current time automatically, so your day quietly becomes a timeline you can look back on.
A few things I cared about:
• One tap in. Tap the icon → the cursor's already blinking. That's the whole onboarding.
• Sync is free. Your notes follow you across devices with no account and no paywall — most apps charge for this; I didn't want to.
• Private by default. Anonymous to start. No ads, no tracking, no analytics. Export a full backup anytime.
It's iPhone-first and free. I'd love your honest feedback — especially: what would make you actually keep journaling? Ask me anything 🙏

The day's closed, so — thank you to everyone who stopped by.
@tylerdane's point about the medium setting our expectations has stuck with me: paper is instant to open and slow to write, and most digital tools have that backwards.
And the launches I spent time in today — Occasio, Compass, Famori — gave me more than the numbers did. That part I didn't expect.
Jotline stays free and it's still one tap in. If you ever want a timestamped line of your day, it's on the App Store — and if you do try it, I'd genuinely like to hear what didn't work.
Small launch, but a real one. Thanks, PH 🙏
