Part of my AI techs exploration (Speech Synthesis, custom LLMs), I ended up making... an AI girlfriend 🙈 Meet Joi, the AI girlfriend on Telegram, uncensored.
I've started my journey as an indiehacker few months ago, and went diving into the AI world, like many.
Explored several AI techs through my other products: voice-to-text, text-to-image, image-to-image, embeddings,... In order to continue this path, I went to try custom LLMs from HuggingFace, Replicate, etc, and discovered some interesting voice cloning technologies and speech synthesis.
Since I wanted to make use of what I would create while exploring technologies, my `exploration` led me to Joi, this AI girlfriend that I coded over a week-end.
And yeah, it's NSFW (for SEO reasons, was a way to differentiate from other products 🥲) so wasn't sure to post here or not.
I stayed in this `technology exploration` mindset on my side, so figured out why not sharing it here. Anyway, it's not my life-changing product, more like a side project gone wrong, still that was interesting to create.
It made me realise how flexible Telegram is to create bot by the way! If some of you are hesitant in between WhatsApp and Telegram, definitely go for the latter! (Free + easy to setup + versatile)
A bit skeptical in an ethical POV, and I kinda jumped on the first solution found to use the techs I was exploring haha.

What are you using for speech synthesis?
The… custom LLM seems… less than stellar. When it asked for my name I typed “hello”, and now it thinks my name is “Hello” XD It’s hilarious.
That aside, it’s interesting that you’re making a NSFW chatbot. It seems like every single big company wants nothing to do with anything even remotely NSFW, which leaves a huge gap in the market. My advice: don't make a bit that can ONLY talk about NSFW stuff, but a more well rounded one that also does NSFW. It feels empty and fake otherwise.
