Jitly is a CLI that connects Jira and git. Run jitly start ABC-123 to create a branch and move your ticket to In Progress. Run jitly done to commit, push, and update the status. No more manual branch naming or forgetting to update Jira.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I built Jitly because I was tired of doing the same annoying stuff every single day.
You know how it goes — open Jira, copy the ticket ID, jump to the terminal, checkout main, pull, then make a branch with some naming style that half the team forgets anyway. After coding you commit, push, then go back to Jira and manually drag the ticket to the right column. Do this 5-10 times a week and it becomes pure context switching.
So I made Jitly — a simple CLI that takes care of all that boring part:
- jitly start ABC-123 → pulls latest code, creates the branch properly, and moves the ticket to In Progress
- jitly done → commits your changes, pushes the branch, and updates the Jira status
- jitly standup → looks at your actual git commits and gives you a ready-to-paste standup message
It works on Mac, Windows, and Linux. You can login with SSO, OAuth, or API token. Completely free — just pip install jitly.
Would really love your feedback. Especially if your team has a weird branch naming rule or a custom Jira workflow. Those are exactly the cases I want to get right.
