Know your IPs before they know your system! IPShield is an open-source, real-time IP risk scoring API that evaluates IPv4 and IPv6 addresses across multiple threat dimensions and returns clear, structured insights in milliseconds.
What inspired you to build IPShield? I built IPShield to make IP intelligence more accessible, transparent, and reliable. Most existing platforms gate key insights behind paywalls or strict limits, which makes it hard for developers or business especially startups to build secure systems from day one. What problem were you trying to solve? Access to IP risk intelligence shouldn’t be a barrier. IPShield is designed to give developers and startups a simple, open, and scalable way to assess IP risk in real time without friction or hidden constraints. How did your approach evolve during the build? It started with understanding who actually needs this and why. From there, I focused on: • Identifying core user needs and use cases • Evaluating technical feasibility and performance requirements • Studying existing solutions to find gaps in accessibility and speed
What do you think of IPshield? Would love feedback from the community on how you’d use it.
