Hologram retired the feature that sent SMS notifications when a device event happened. IoT Message fills that gap. Point a Hologram webhook at it, or connect your API key, and your triggers decide which events matter. Each match sends your text or email to the people tied to that device. Cooldowns stop repeats, recipients can sign up through a link and reply STOP, and a phone on your list can text a device back.

Hologram used to support SMS notifications when one of your devices did something. They retired that feature, so I built IoT Message to bring it back. I also wanted more control over what device events actually generate an SMS or Email notification. As I iterated on building this solution, I realized that I wanted to do be able to do things like pause a device that met certain trigger criteria, so I built that feature as well. If you use Hologram SIM cards for your IoT devices, and rely on events to be informed and control your fleet, what additional features and capabilities do you wish for? If you use SIMs from another provider, I'd love to see how IoT Message can be expanded to support them! (Technically, we should already support anything that can post a webhook, but I'd love to offer a nice clean integration if possible).

Who hunted IoT Message?

IoT Message was hunted by Mike Brandon. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
