Hey Product Hunt! 👋

I built iosbid after seeing how difficult it can be for indie iOS developers to get their apps discovered.

There are plenty of app directories, but most of them are basically “submit and hope someone finds you”. I wanted to try something different — a leaderboard where developers can actually compete for visibility by bidding for higher positions.

You can submit an app, see where it ranks, and outbid other apps to move up the leaderboard.

It’s a pretty simple experiment, but I’m curious to see if this kind of competitive discovery actually works for app developers.

This is my first Product Hunt launch, so I’d really appreciate any feedback — especially from people who build or market iOS apps.

Thanks for checking out iosbid! 🚀

Who hunted iosbid?

iosbid was hunted by Otto Siegfried. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
