Tired of complex automation tools? Instruct is the first truly no-code platform where you can build, edit and run powerful AI agents using only natural language - just explain your task, and let Instruct handle the rest.
Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I'm Matt, CEO and co-founder of Instruct. We're a small team based in London, and we're incredibly excited to share what we've been building.
My co-founder Alfie and I built Instruct out of a deep frustration born from nearly a decade working inside the automation industry. I spent 5 years at a large automation company and started my career at IBM on their AI teams. I fell in love with the 'magic' of watching computers do work, but saw firsthand how brittle traditional tools were. They couldn't adapt to change, broke constantly, and were only accessible to technical users, leaving 80-90% of potential automations on the table.
When the AI explosion happened, we knew we had to reimagine automation from the ground up: with AI at its core, not as a bolt-on feature. We wanted to finally build what our old customers were always asking for: AI that could plug into their systems and get work done on their behalf.
What's new and unique compared to alternatives?
Instruct is the first platform where you build and run truly autonomous AI agents using natural language.
🤔 Why do we call them agents, not workflows? This is core to what we do. A workflow is a rigid, pre-defined checklist. If a step fails or something unexpected happens, the entire thing breaks.
An agent is different. You give it a goal, and it uses reasoning to figure out the best path to achieve it. It can understand ambiguity, adapt to changes, and handle real-world messiness—just like a human teammate. This is why our agents are so much more powerful and reliable.
Now, here’s how that compares to what’s out there:
- Compared to tools like Zapier/Make: We're moving beyond rigid workflows. Instead of building, you simply instruct. You don't have to think about variables or loops; you just describe a task in plain English. Our platform translates that into a robust, goal-driven agent for you.
- Compared to tools like ChatGPT: Our agents don't talk; they act. They have direct, secure access to your tools to complete repeatable, valuable work from start to finish. This is about execution, not just conversation.
What are we most proud of?
Honestly, it’s seeing non-technical users build automations that would have previously required an entire engineering team.
We believe that if your AI workforce speaks a completely different language (like code), they'll be impossible to manage. By making our entire platform natural language, we're democratising a capability that was locked away for years. That moment when someone from marketing or ops watches a capable AI agent come to life in seconds… that's the "magic" I first fell in love with, finally made accessible to everyone.

The product seems really great and handy, but I just wanted to know how it differs from COMET by Preplexity.
I like the focus on execution rather than conversation. Most AI tools I’ve tried stop at giving instructions but don't actually do the work.
I see the value in calling them agents instead of workflows. In my experience workflows usually break if one thing goes wrong.
I like that this is designed for people who don't know how to code. I work in operations and most tools I’ve tried required too much setup.
Soo when are you starting to call yourself the Zapier killer? :D Looks great + website looks super sleek. Will be trying out in the next days!
Very excited for this! I haven't found a good automation tool for AI workflows so far. So much potential here
Congrats on the launch, Matt! Love the shift from rigid workflows to adaptive agents , that’s a real game-changer. Curious though, how are you planning to handle early user feedback at scale? That’s usually a pain point for fast-growing teams.
I recently tried Instruct and I have to say it's very impressive! The agent creation is absolutely spot-on and I managed to build my first LinkedIn post agent, which worked great. However, one thing to note is that it consumed 50 credits for a single run, which feels a bit expensive for frequent usage.
I've used multiple automation platforms, and I think the credit policy could be improved. Currently, you provide 50 credits per month, but since a single automation run can consume all 50 credits, I'd recommend offering 50 credits per day for at least the initial few months as a trial or testing period. This would allow users to test and experiment more freely with building agents. Later, you could upgrade the pricing plan as needed based on usage patterns. Just a friendly suggestion—ultimately it's your decision. Rest, it's been a great experience.
I couldn't find any information about your pricing. How much does this cost?
What happens when there's an exception or something breaks? How does an agent repair or fix it?
What kind of guardrails are in place and what level of transparency is offered?
Really like how you’ve framed the shift from workflows to agents. That distinction, rigid checklists vs. adaptive teammates, feels spot on. In our work on Escape Velocity AI (different space, more on strategy/financial modeling), we’ve noticed the same need: people don’t want more steps, they want outcomes that adapt when things change.
Do you see early adopters using Instruct more for back-office automations (ops, HR, finance) or for external-facing workflows like sales and customer support?
Good luck on the launch @mattfalconer I'd like to ask that, are you dependent on any LLM service or do you have an agnostic structure?
Great job, Matt! I really appreciate it when I can check out templates - it gives me much more understanding on what the product is capable of and how I could use it for my needs. Good luck!
