A few months ago my sister ordered a dress from an Instagram shop — around 15k followers, looked legit, decent photos. She paid COD. When the courier arrived, we paid for it, opened the box... and it was a plain white t-shirt. Not even close to what she ordered.
We tried to warn others in the comments. Blocked instantly. Turns out that's the playbook — scam a customer, block them or hide their comment, and the next buyer has zero way of knowing.
That's the problem with how a lot of small businesses and local shops operate today — everything happens over Instagram DMs, and there's no public trail of who's actually trustworthy and who isn't. The good sellers get lumped in with the bad ones because buyers have no way to check before they pay.
So I built InstaShopsReview — think of it as Google Reviews, but for Instagram shops:
