Instance is an AI-powered app builder for iOS, Android, and the web that lets you create apps, games, and websites by describing them in plain English. If coding has ever slowed you down, Instance will help you bring your ideas to life.
A few years ago, my co-founders and I set out to make coding more accessible and built @Mimo, which has since helped some 35 million people learn to code. Today, we’re launching Instance and, ironically, might make coding… optional.
Instance is an AI app builder for iOS, Android, and the web. It’s made for designers, founders, and PMs with ideas for apps, games, tools, websites, etc., but little or no coding experience. A friend recently described it as his “developer buddy”.
Here’s how it works:
You tell Instance what you want to build (via text or voice; more to come)
Instance creates a fully functional product (built-in support for databases; more to come)
You extend and iterate through conversations
Considering we spent 8+ years teaching people to code, launching Instance might sound like self-disruption. But honestly, it feels like fulfilling the mission we started: making software development accessible.
Early testers have already created amazing products with Instance (some even made it to top spots on PH). Give it a try, build something of your own (perhaps even launch it on PH), and tell us what you think.
Congrats on your launch, team Instance! The market is flooded with similar products. What's Instance's edge over them?
Congrats on the launch, Henry! Excited to see how Instance transforms app development and makes it more accessible. Looking forward to exploring its potential!
Just read about Instance and it looks seriously impressive. The idea of building real apps without code is wild — can’t wait to see how it evolves.
I was at my wit's end, ready to abandon my project. After trying so many AI tools, I was frustrated by constantly running out of credits, hitting context limits, and draining my wallet just to keep going.
Discovering Instance on Product Hunt, I was skeptical but intrigued by the tech stack (Neon, Cursor, etc.). I figured I'd give it a few minutes. I was absolutely blown away by what the platform could achieve in just a single chat—more than I had accomplished with other tools after countless hours and refills.
I'm already on my fourth of the five free chats and am genuinely excited to see what's possible with a paid subscription. This tool is a game-changer. Keep up the incredible work!
Instance sounds like a game-changer for creatives who have brilliant ideas but struggle with coding! It's impressive how you're making app development even more accessible. Kudos to the team for pioneering such an inclusive tool. Can't wait to see what users create with it! 🚀
Instance sounds like an amazing tool for those of us with ideas but without coding experience! How does Instance handle more complex app features like user authentication, payment integration, or APIs for external data? Does it support these out of the box?
Hey guys! Congrats on the launch. Will definitely try Instance out since it seems promising. Just a quick question, how do you defer from Lovable for ex.? It's a similar platform that I've used before and your project reminds me of this.
Instance's pitch is refreshingly clear, like type an idea, tweak a bit of vibe code, and ship a playable game or full-blown web app in minutes. Amazing! 🚀
A few questions bubbled up while exploring:
Data & auth blocks: is there a reusable backend layer (DB, user login, payments), or should makers bolt those on with external APIs?
Export/hand-off: once an app gains traction, can devs download clean React or Unity code to scale outside the Instance sandbox?
SEO & perf: how does the builder handle Lighthouse scores and structured data for public sites? Early organic traffic makes or breaks side-projects.
Collaboration: any roadmap for real-time co-editing or version branches? Would be clutch for agency pairs shipping client MVPs.
Anyway, congrats on lowering the I should build this barrier to almost zero! 🎉
Such an amazing team, such an amazing product!
Greetings from Austria
So excited to try this one. Now designers may relabelled as makers without developer dependency
Damn! Feels just like v0 or bolt. Curious: does Instance support real-time collaboration or team-based editing? Would be awesome for startup teams brainstorming together.
You have a ton of experience with helping people learn to code, why are you now shipping a tool that helps everyone ship real apps without having to code? Is learning how to code over?
Why is publishing a part of the launch features? How do you think about it?
