Instagram's website still won't post stories, queue a batch, or say who unfollowed you. InstaDesk adds the rest, inside instagram.com. Publishing is free forever — photos, carousels, reels and stories, with real Instagram audio on reels, which most tools charge for. So are downloads. Pro ($7.99/mo) is the time-savers: a calendar, your posting times, per-post captions from a CSV, insights across 250 posts. No account, no password, nothing leaves your computer.

I built this because posting to Instagram from a laptop is still weirdly hard. The website does some of it now, but not stories, not a queue, and it won't tell you who unfollowed you. The decision people ask about most: publishing is free and always will be, including attaching real Instagram audio to a reel. That's the thing that actually makes a reel get found, and charging for the part everyone needs felt wrong. Pro is the time-savers instead — scheduling, insights, knowing who left. The other thing I'd point at is the Activity log. Every action the extension takes on your account is written down where you can read it. There's a growth tool that can like and follow on hashtags: it's off until you turn it on, capped at a limit you can't raise, stops the moment Instagram pushes back, and it will never comment or send a DM. That's not a setting you switch off — it isn't built. The log is there so you can check that rather than take my word for it. Today's release is 2.0 — eight releases in five weeks. It adds a rebuilt insights panel that reads 250 posts instead of twelve, posting-time slots, per-post captions from a CSV, and a pinned-posts shelf. It's new, a few hundred users, and I'm the only one working on it. Nothing is uploaded anywhere, there's no account, and it uses the Instagram session already open in your browser. Happy to answer anything.

Who hunted InstaDesk?

InstaDesk was hunted by Konnor Groome. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
