This project started from a personal frustration. When I switched to Android, I really missed the iOS feature that automatically cycles through family photos. I first tried Google Photos, but due to API limitations, it wasn’t possible to create a seamless experience—so I built “Local Mode.”
But there was a bigger issue: Android’s default wallpaper system. It always center-crops images. As a result, when I set photos of my kids, their faces were often cut off because they weren’t perfectly centered. I found that incredibly frustrating—I wanted to see the *entire* photo, just as I captured it.
To solve this, I built the **Fluid Engine (Pro)**.
**[Pro Features — The Ultimate Experience]** - **Fluid Engine**: A custom 120FPS live wallpaper engine that dynamically calculates the optimal scroll width based on your home screen pages. Instead of a static center crop, it preserves the full width of your photos as you swipe—no more cut-off faces. - **Stroke Intensity**: Fine-tune the scroll range (e.g., 0.8 for a more subtle 80% glide). - **Metadata Display**: Show the “Date Taken” anywhere on your wallpaper. - **Multi-Album Sync**: Combine and sync multiple Immich albums simultaneously.
