Image Viewer
A fast, simple image viewer and editor for Mac and Windows
A fast, simple desktop image viewer for macOS and Windows. Browse folders as a grid, view camera EXIF, and crop with aspect presets. Built with Rust, Tauri 2 and React.
Hi Product Hunt 👋 I’m Avirup, an entrepreneur from India.
I built Image Viewer because two things in the Mac’s Preview app kept bothering me: you can’t open one photo and arrow through the rest of the folder, and crops get saved over the original before you notice.
So I made a small, fast viewer that does the basics well: • Open a folder (or drop one on the window) and flip through it with the arrow keys • Thumbnail grid, zoom, filmstrip, and camera info (EXIF) • Crop with presets, and adjust brightness, contrast, saturation and warmth with a live preview • Edits save as a copy by default. Replacing moves the original to the Trash, and deleting has a 5-second undo • Every action has a keyboard shortcut (press ?)
Under the hood it’s Rust and Tauri 2, so it’s light and opens quickly. The colour sliders combine into a single colour matrix: the window previews it instantly and Rust applies the same maths when saving, so what you see is what you get.
Current limits: the Mac build is for Apple Silicon only, the Windows installer isn’t code-signed yet (Windows will warn you: click More info → Run anyway), and HEIC/RAW aren’t supported yet. Rotate and resize are coming next.
It’s free and MIT-licensed. What would you want from a simple image viewer? Bug reports are very welcome on GitHub.
