Image Converter hub
Convert images in your browser. Nothing uploaded, ever.
Hey everyone 👋
I built Image Converter Hub because I kept hitting the same wall: iPhone photos in HEIC that half the web won't open, and every "free online converter" I found solved that by asking me to upload the file to their server first. Fine for a holiday snap. Not fine for a scan of a passport, a bank statement, or an X-ray — which is exactly the kind of file people paste into the first converter Google hands them because the deadline is now and installing software isn't an option.
So the rule I set for myself was simple: the image never leaves the device. Everything — HEIC/JPG/PNG/WebP/AVIF conversion, compression, metadata stripping, resizing, upscaling — runs in the browser, on your machine, using WASM decoders instead of a server. No account, no upload, no watermark.
That constraint changed the build more than I expected. It's why there's a dedicated /no-upload page that tells you to turn off your wi-fi and try converting anyway — a converter that uploads can't survive that test, so I wanted the site to invite people to run it rather than just claim it. It's also why the service worker precaches the whole app shell: "works offline" had to be true, not aspirational copy.
Happy to answer anything — architecture, format support, what's next (I'm looking at a few more tools for the privacy-tools section). And if you convert something and it breaks, tell me — that's the fastest way this gets better.

Image Converter hub was hunted by Marc Wannenmacher.
