I built im2img around a simple idea: sometimes you don’t need a completely new image—you need a better version of one you already have. You might want a different background, softer lighting, or a new visual style without starting from scratch.
The problem I wanted to solve was making those edits more approachable. With im2img, you upload a reference image and describe what you want to change in plain language. It’s a straightforward workflow for people who have a visual idea but don’t want to learn a complex editing tool to try it.
As the project developed, the focus expanded from generating an image to making the whole editing experience clearer and more dependable. That meant adding practical prompt examples, private editing history, transparent credit costs, and reliable handling of generation failures. I also leaned into an iterative approach: start with a reference, change one thing, compare the result, and refine. The goal for this launch is to make AI image editing useful for everyday tasks while being honest about its limitations.
