If Systems Worked
A sourced record of lives lost when systems fail in India
Explore reported fatal incidents across India through an interactive map, calendar and source-linked records. If Systems Worked documents cases where failures in infrastructure, maintenance, preparedness, enforcement or public systems may have contributed. Filter by date, place and category, and follow the evidence behind each entry. Coverage is incomplete; reported failures are not legal findings.
Hi Product Hunt, I built If Systems Worked around a simple question: what if the system had worked?
News about fatal incidents is often scattered across places, dates and publishers. This project brings reported cases into one sourced public record, with a map, calendar, filters and links to the original reports.
The aim is to make the evidence easier to explore, without treating every death as having one simple cause or implying legal responsibility beyond what sources establish. Coverage is incomplete, and counts may change as reporting develops.
I would love your feedback on the clarity of the record, the map/calendar experience and how the methodology could be more useful.
