IDM (Impressive-Download-Manager)
A modern download manager you actually want to look at.
Existing download managers force a choice: outdated legacy UIs or heavy Electron apps that eat RAM. I used Rust & Tauri to break this: UI: Gorgeous glassmorphic design with liquid animations. Tiny & Fast: Ultra-lightweight native footprint, yet 10x faster. It’s a beautiful download manager you’ll actually want to keep open.
👋 I'm Shaheer, the solo dev behind this. I built Impressive Download Manager because I was frustrated by a weird gap in the market. Classic download managers are fast but look like they were built in 2005. Modern alternatives usually run on Electron, which means they look nice but hog your RAM. I decided to build a native alternative using Rust and Tauri. The result? A small footprint, blazing-fast speeds, and a stunning glassmorphic UI. A few honest updates before you download: Platforms: It currently support Windows and Linux (.deb / .rpm). macOS support is coming soon! Beta Status: It's currently at v0.7.1, so you might find a few rough edges. Browser Extension: To keep this project 100% free, the extension is provided as a ZIP file in our GitHub Releases. It requires a quick manual setup via Developer Mode (I’ve included a guide to help you out!). I’d love for you to try it out: How does the UI performance feel on your machine? What is the ONE feature missing that would make this your daily driver?
