IdeaBoard95

A community idea board that looks like Windows 95

Web App
Design Tools
Productivity

IdeaBoard95 is a public idea board for product inspirations. Post an idea, upvote what resonates, and filter by tags: App, Website, and AI. The Windows 95-style chrome is deliberate-nostalgia on the surface, serious UX underneath-so you scan fast on desktop or phone. The layout stays readable on small screens. Sign in with Google to add, edit, or remove your posts. For founders, builders, and designers who want one light board, not another doc graveyard. https://ideaboard95.com

Hey Product Hunt-thanks for stopping by. I'm an indie developer. I recently quit my job to focus on building and shipping my own projects, and IdeaBoard95 is one of the first things I'm putting out there from that new chapter. It's a public idea board: post product ideas, upvote what you want to see more of, and filter by tags like App, Website, and AI. Why I built it - My ideas lived everywhere-notes, chats, random docs-and I kept losing track - I wanted one small place where inspiration sits in the open and people can show what actually matters - Without turning it into another tool I dread opening The Windows 95 look is intentional for me: nostalgia on the surface, but I cared just as much about readable layout, fast scanning, and flows that work on desktop and phone. You sign in when you want to post or manage your own ideas (Firebase under the hood). I'm shipping in public now, so honest feedback really helps. What would you use a board like this for? What would make you come back? If something breaks or feels off, say so-I'll fix what I can. https://ideaboard95.com

Congrats, I like this, especially the Windows 95 look paired with a clean and fast layout, it gives it personality without getting in the way. Also really respect you quitting your job and just putting things out there like this, just upvoted and curious how you’re thinking about keeping ideas high quality over time and what would make someone keep coming back to post more?

Congrats on the launch! The UI is definitely a choice. It's a great site and I love the little touches like the phantom cursor trails, but not sure Win95 is the UX you want to be emulating in an app today unless it's just a showcase for your skills.
