IcyZip
QR-paired browser transfer for text and files, no signup.
Open IcyZip on two devices, pair them with a QR code, and transfer live text or one file in the browser. No account, email, app install, or cloud-drive setup. Built for quick phone-to-computer handoffs with clear privacy limits and browser-side encryption for current product clients.
I built IcyZip for the small but recurring problem of moving text or a file between two devices without installing another app or sending it through a cloud-drive workflow.
The current flow is deliberately narrow: pair two browsers by QR code, use the live text field, or send one file. Current browser clients encrypt live text and file bytes before they leave the browser. The server still handles routing and can see metadata such as timing and file metadata, so I keep that limitation explicit.
I would appreciate feedback on the pairing flow, clarity of the privacy copy, and whether the file-transfer UI feels obvious on mobile.
