Hey makers 👋 I’m Alex, one of the co-founders of Iago, and I'm excited to also share that we've raised $1.5M from Reach Capital & Pear VC!
Iago focuses on one of the most important aspects of the language: being able to speak conversationally.
While building Iago we wanted build a language learning experience that focuses on the following principles:

* Focusing on practical conversation
* Adopting a grammar-focused pedagogy
As a result, we’ve created Iago, the first open world curriculum — empowering you to build your own path on the fly whilst implicitly learning grammar through conversational immersion.

Learning a new language in the form of conversation and verbal practice is so helpful. Will be even better to dive into more details in terms of different conversation scenarios and adding more cultural elements in:)) Congrats on the launch!
I tried this educational software and really liked the card-based design.
It would be even better if the initial tutorial had a game-like dialogue feel.
The grammar breakdowns are also quite good, but I found myself lacking the patience to continue.
Maybe adding some gamified positive feedback would help.

Wow, this is really helpful for learners of Japanese! Within the context of the Japanese language, there are subtle differences in honorifics, plain form, polite form, and sentence-ending particles that can be very confusing. Can Iago customize the speaker's identity to provide the most suitable suggestions?
Looks good! I’m keen to try it and understand how the initial process to get my level will be. It’s being a few months trying different options but I’m already in a point that I don’t want to invest much time on the very basic lessons. This “from day one” approach seems really interesting.
I'm travelling to Japan in about 2 months, and my Japanese is horrific. Really having fun trying this out as DuoLingo just didn't gel well with me. It's very gamified! Good luck with the launch!

I love how the customizable curriculum feature addresses the need for personalized learning paths. It’s clear that a lot of thought went into the user experience, especially with the pronunciation practice through speaking. I’ve been using it for a few weeks, and it has already significantly improved my Japanese speaking skills.
