I Spy Text
Find text in anything printed — books, labels & more
Instantly search and find any text in physical books, documents, manuals, medication labels & more with a live camera on your iPhone or iPad. 25+ languages supported. The app supports finding keywords even when they're split across lines or angled. Especially handy for students, researchers, and anyone working through long printed material.
Hello Product Hunt! 👋 I Spy Text is launching here today.
It turns your camera into "Ctrl+F" for the real world. Point your iPhone or iPad at any printed page, and I Spy Text highlights your search term live — no scanning line by line, no squinting.
I built this after one too many times flipping through a 300-page manual looking for a single line — figured my camera should be able to do that instantly.
It's built for the moments search engines can't help with: → Finding one line in a thick textbook or novel → Locating a specific ingredient or warning on a medication label → Spotting a title on a crowded library shelf → Digging through manuals, forms, or dense documents
A few handy features: → Finds your term even when it's split across lines or at an angle → Works in 25+ languages → Optional audio feedback when your term is found → Export found results straight to your photo gallery
Who's it for? → Students → Researchers → Anyone working through long printed material → Anyone hunting for that one pesky ingredient on a long label
Would love to know — what's the first thing you'd try searching for? And any honest feedback is very welcome!
