The idea for I'm OK was born out of frustration with existing family safety and tracking apps. Most of them are incredibly heavy-handed—they demand 24/7 GPS access, drain your battery, and make you feel like you're under constant surveillance. The reality is, our loved ones just want to know we're "OK," not exactly which street corner we're standing on every second of the day.
So, we built an app focused on unobtrusive peace of mind:
🚫 No Stalking: Your privacy is respected. Location is ONLY shared to your emergency contacts during an active SOS or a missed "Check-in" timer.
👨👩👧 Designed for Two Generations: We built 'Fake Calls' and discrete SOS for young adults navigating night runs or dates, while creating a separate, radically simplified 'Protected Mode' for seniors living independently who just want an easy way to check in.
💬 Offline Fallback: We fought hard to implement native SMS background triggering. If you're in danger and cell data drops, your SOS text will still go through.
We're launching today with full support for 10 languages!
