Today, we are releasing Hyvor Blogs 2.0! It comes with a bunch of new features. Most importantly, Hyvor Blogs is now open-source and self-hostable.
Here’s a summary of all the major changes:
- New Editor UI: A new, improved editor user interface that promotes simplicity and helps you write without distractions.
- Suggestion Mode & Inline Comments: Give feedback in a traceable way. Offer suggestions and comment directly on pieces of text for team discussion.
- Real-time Collaborative Editing: Multiple authors can now work on the same document in real time.
- AI Agent: A full AI agent that can read and search your blog posts, compare them, improve them, and suggest edits.
- Improved Hyvor Talk Integration: Direct comment moderation inside the Hyvor Blogs Console, and a complimentary license with an active subscription.
- New Hyvor Post Integration: Direct, free access to our privacy-first newsletter platform. Add subscriber signup forms and send newsletter issues directly from the console.
- Open-Source & Self-Hosting: Released under the AGPLv3 license. You can self-host on your own servers using Docker.
- Personal Plan: A new personal pricing tier introduced at €50/year.
Hyvor Blogs' Architecture:
It's a traditional web app with a simple architecture, nothing fancy.
- Frontend: Written in TypeScript, SvelteKit, and our design system.
- Backend: Written in Symfony (recently migrated from Laravel).
- Database & Media: Postgres database, with media saved in the filesystem (for smaller deployments) and S3-compatible storage support for larger deployments.
- Performance: Extensive first-request caching. When a blog page is requested, it is rendered and cached to deliver all subsequent requests instantly until cleared.
