HunyuanVideo-I2V, from Tencent, is a open-source image-to-video generation model. Up to 720p resolution, 129 frames. Supports custom LoRA training for unique effects.
Hi everyone!
HunyuanVideo-I2V is a new open-source image-to-video model from Tencent, and it's a significant addition to the growing AI video space! This builds on their previous HunyuanVideo project, but focuses specifically on turning still images into videos.
Here's the detail:
🖼️ Image-to-Video: Give it an image and a text prompt, and it generates a video.
🌅 High Resolution: Can generate videos up to 720p resolution.
⏱️ Up to 129 frames (around 5 seconds).
✨ Customizable Effects (LoRA): This is huge. You can train your own LoRA adapters to create custom visual styles and effects. This gives you a lot of control.
🔓 Open Source: Code and model weights are available.
It requires a pretty hefty GPU (they recommend 80GB), but they have optimized inference scripts.

The idea is interesting but I wonder how well it handles complex details in images. Some AI tools struggle with accuracy in motion.
I tested it, and I like how easy it is to turn images into videos. The processing speed is good but i think having more control over frame rates and effects could make it even more useful for creators.
I tried it out and the results look impressive! The transitions are smooth and the video quality is really nice. Maybe adding more customization options would make it even better.
HunyuanVideo I2V is a voice-to-video game-changer! 🎙️ Loving the realism. Like if you're into innovative tech! Wishing you all the best in your video projects!
The 80GB GPU requirement is wild. Guess this is another model I won’t be running locally anytime soon
Huge thanks to the Tencent team for open-sourcing this impressive technical achievement! 🚀 The community greatly benefits from your contributions to open video generation models. While the architecture looks complex, your clear documentation and Linux installation guide make it surprisingly approachable. Minor grammar note: "Frist Frame" in demo section might need correction. Congrats on the PH launch!
