I can whistle. I just can't whistle *in tune* — and I never had any way of
knowing which part I was getting wrong. Singing has a hundred pitch trainers.
Whistling has none.
So I built How to Whistle.
You pick a tune, it plays, and you whistle along. A white line tracks your
pitch against the melody as you go, so you can hear and see the drift in the
same moment. When the song ends you get a breakdown: pitch accuracy, timing,
and which notes you missed entirely.
What's in there right now:
• 21 songs, difficulty 1–5 — folk and classical, all public domain
• Transpose any tune into your comfortable range (there's a range test to find it)
• Half-tempo mode for the hard bits
• A daily challenge with a global leaderboard
• Works on desktop and mobile
Two things I care about:
• It's free. No account, no signup, no paywall.
• The microphone audio is processed in your browser and never leaves your
device. Nothing is recorded, nothing is uploaded.
Whistling is one of those skills nobody teaches — you either picked it up as a
