I’m the founder of HostDesk. I built this because I was managing my own short-term rentals using a Google Sheet that was starting to look like an airplane cockpit. Every month, I had the exact same question: "Okay, but how much money am I actually taking home?" Between Airbnb/Booking/VRBO commissions, occupancy taxes, and cleaning fees, the numbers shown on the platforms didn't mean much.
Then there was the other headache: three platforms, three calendars. I spent all my time bouncing between Airbnb, Booking.com, and Vrbo to see who was arriving, who was leaving, and which apartment needed cleaning. I lived in constant fear of a double-booking.
I looked into existing channel managers. They’re super powerful, but clearly designed (and priced) for people managing 20, 50, or 100 properties. For my handful of apartments, it was total overkill. So, I built the tool I actually wanted: you connect your iCals, all your bookings sync into one calendar, and you see your net income per property and per period. Period.
