Subleasing in college is broken. You spam GroupMe, post in Facebook groups, and pray a stranger isn't a scam. Homey is a swipe-first sublease marketplace built for college students. List your place in 60 seconds and pick who takes over or swipe through real subleases near your campus. ✓ 250+ campuses across the US ✓ Two-way marketplace: list, manage, pick your subletter ✓ Date-range matching (summer, internships, co-ops) ✓ Long-term rentals too No scams. No spreadsheets. Just swipes.
Hey everyone 👋, I’m Om, a college student and founder of Homey.
Last year, I was trying to find a sublease for a summer internship. I jumped between Facebook groups, GroupMe chats, and random WhatsApp groups, messaging dozens of people just to figure out what was still available. Half the listings were outdated, some felt sketchy, and nothing was built for how students actually find housing.
It was frustrating, slow, and way more stressful than it should have been.
So we built Homey: a swipe-first sublease marketplace for college students.
What makes it different:
• Subleases are the main event, not buried inside a rental app • Built for real student timelines like internships, co-ops, and semester swaps • List in 60 seconds with address, dates, rent, and photos • See and review everyone interested before choosing your subletter • 250+ campuses nationwide from DePaul to MIT to UCLA • Toggle between subleases and long-term rentals instantly
We are live on the App Store today. If you have dealt with subleasing before, I would love to hear what you think!

Who hunted Homey ?
Homey was hunted by Om Thakkar. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
