I kept losing long agent runs, and every fix I tried was a workaround for the same thing: the machine underneath the agent stops when you walk away. Laptop sleeps, wifi drops, the cloud sandbox reclaims the container because nobody typed for twenty minutes, which is exactly what an unattended agent looks like to an idle timer.
So HolyCode Cloud is the boring fix, productized. A Linux VM in a browser tab that doesn't stop when you disconnect. Hand Claude Code a refactor, close the laptop, get on a train, open the same session on your phone. Processes still running, scrollback still there.
It started as an open-source Docker image I self-hosted, which is still free and still up at github.com/CoderLuii/HolyCode. This is that image on a machine I maintain, for people who would rather not maintain one.
What's on it: six agent CLIs on PATH (Claude Code, Codex, Gemini, OpenCode, Cursor, Pi), plus the tooling agents actually reach for. Postgres, Playwright with its system deps resolved, ffmpeg, pandoc, gh, ripgrep, tmux. You bring your own Anthropic or OpenAI key, they bill you directly, and I don't mark up tokens.
Two honest things, since someone will ask. There's no free tier: every account is a real VM that costs money from the first minute, so it's a 7-day refund instead, no form and no call. And if a box sits idle for days the resume is closer to a minute than a second while the host pulls the image again. Nothing is lost, you just wait.
