I built Hold Sleep because I kept losing work to my Mac's sleep mode. I'd start a Claude Code task or a 20 GB download, close the lid, and come back to find it had stopped at 12%.
The usual fixes all had a catch:
* Turning sleep off in Settings keeps the Mac awake all the time, and only while plugged in.
* Amphetamine and caffeinate require you to remember to switch them on and off.
* None of them work with the lid closed unless you have an external display.
Hold Sleep watches for real work on your Mac (AI agents, downloads, exports, builds, backups) and keeps it awake only while that work runs. When the work finishes, your Mac sleeps normally.
