💡 We built it because every existing bill-splitting app felt like accounting software, full of forms and dropdowns nobody wants to touch. We wanted adding an expense to feel as easy as sending a message, so HippoSplit borrows the chat format. It's not here to replace your WhatsApp or Messenger group, just to be the quick, convenient place you log every expense the moment it happens.
📸 You snap a photo of a receipt or just type "dinner, $80," and it pulls out the items, amounts, and currency, picks a category, and keeps the split clear. You stay in control: every split is editable, and the actual math is done by our backend, not guessed by AI.
💬 To be clear, it's not a chatbot. You chat your expense, HippoSplit parses it, calculates the split, and the totals, settle-up, and charts all live on one page. No typing back and forth with an AI bot, so everything stays consistent and you spend seconds, not minutes.
