Hi Product Hunt! I’m László, a neurosurgeon and researcher, and the maker of Hikari Scribe.
I started building Hikari because the material around my research kept becoming a separate organisational task: reading notes, references, images, files and ideas captured between other things. I wanted to keep them together and come back weeks later without losing the context.
Hikari brings that workflow to iOS, iPadOS and macOS, with an Apple Watch companion for voice recording. You can keep a research diary, connect entries on a timeline, search PubMed and OpenAlex, bring in references from Zotero, and insert citations alongside your writing.
There’s also a journal-table reader for your own SCImago CSV files and on-device Whisper transcription after downloading the model.
This is our first TestFlight beta. The focus is personal writing and research workflows, including iCloud sync between your own devices. Multi-user collaboration is switched off for this launch and is the next development step.
The planned paid release will use a one-time purchase with optional paid upgrades for future major versions, rather than a subscription. Final pricing is not announced yet.
