I built Hidy because every Mac privacy app I tried wanted my camera — watching me all day just to know when to hide my screen. That felt backwards.
Hidy never even asks for the camera. Instead:
🌬️ Cough or blow toward the screen → it frosts instantly
🧱 Start closing the lid → it blurs before it shuts
⌨️ Or a hotkey, 3-finger trackpad tap, or menu-bar click
No camera. No cloud. Nothing leaves your Mac. It reads your laptop’s hinge angle from a hardware sensor locally, and (only if you opt in) listens for a cough via the mic — never the camera.
