Most journaling apps give you a blank page. Hibiki takes a different approach. It asks a few small questions about your day — what happened, where you went, who you met, what you enjoyed, and more. Answer only what feels worth remembering. A meal, a movie, a place, a person, or simply how the day felt. Over time, these tiny records become a picture of the life you actually lived. No pressure to write long entries. Just notice, remember, and look back.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I made Hibiki because I’ve always liked the idea of keeping a diary, but I never enjoyed sitting in front of a blank page trying to decide what was worth writing. The strange thing is, most days actually contain plenty of things worth remembering. A meal you really liked. A movie you watched. A place you visited. Someone you met. A night you didn’t sleep well. A small thing that made the day feel good. None of these moments necessarily feel important enough to become a full journal entry. But months or years later, they’re often exactly the things you wish you could remember. So I designed Hibiki around a simple idea: Instead of asking you to “write a diary,” it asks you a few small, concrete questions about your day. What happened today? Where did you go? Who did you meet? What did you enjoy? You can answer one of them, all of them, or almost nothing at all. I also deliberately kept the structure limited instead of turning Hibiki into a fully customizable journaling system. I wanted opening the app to feel simple: there shouldn’t be another decision to make before you can start remembering your day. Hibiki also isn’t meant to optimize your life. A lot of apps encourage us to become more productive, more disciplined, healthier, happier, or somehow better than we were yesterday. There’s nothing wrong with that, but I wanted Hibiki to do something quieter: Help you notice the life you already have. Over time, your small daily records turn into something you can look back on — not a perfectly written diary, but a picture of the days you actually lived. Hibiki is available on iPhone, with a free version and a one-time Pro purchase. No subscription. I’d especially love feedback on one thing: Does this lighter, question-based way of journaling feel easier to keep using than a traditional blank-page diary? Thanks for taking a look at Hibiki.

Who hunted Hibiki?

Hibiki was hunted by tokinoko. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
