Helicon gives Muse Code, Meta's coding agent CLI, a proper home: projects and sessions in one sidebar, readable approvals, inline diffs and your plan meter. Free, MIT, no API key. Windows (no WSL), macOS, Linux, VS Code. Unofficial, not affiliated with Meta.

Top comment

Hey Product Hunt, Harjot here. Meta shipped Muse Code in August as a terminal-only agent. I liked the agent and missed everything around it: a list of my sessions, a diff I could read before saying yes, and some idea of what a long thread cost. So I built Helicon. It runs the muse CLI you already have, on the plan you already pay for: - Every project and session in one sidebar, including ones you started in the terminal - Approvals shown exactly as Muse Code asks for them, never bypassed - Inline diffs where the edit happened - Your real 5-hour and weekly plan meter, plus what each thread would have cost at API rates - Native on Windows (no WSL needed), macOS and Linux, plus a VS Code and Open VSX extension It's free and MIT licensed, and 8 other people have contributed code so far. It's a community project: Meta didn't make it and hasn't endorsed it. If you want to look before installing anything, helicon.sh/try runs a demo in your browser. What's the one thing you still drop back to the terminal for? That's what I'll build next.

Comment highlights

I like that it works on Windows without needing WSL. That makes setups simpler for a lot of people.

A few quick answers before they come up:

  • Do I need an API key? No. Helicon uses your existing muse login and the plan you already pay for.

  • Is it official? No. It's a community project built on Meta's MIT-licensed Muse Code SDK. Meta hasn't endorsed it.

  • Windows? Yes, native Muse Code for Windows with no WSL needed. If you already run Muse inside WSL2, it uses that.

  • Does it bypass approvals? Never. You see every request exactly as Muse Code asks it.
