Keep useful texts in a searchable, encrypted Android archive. Import SMS, export to CSV and back up with optional Google Drive storage. Free with 30-day local retention. One-time Pro adds longer retention and more. Restore opens in HashKeep.
An address someone texted you. An appointment. A conversation you want to keep. Those messages can be useful long after you've read them.
I built HashKeep to give them a separate, searchable archive, encrypted on your Android phone. Keep using your usual messaging app; the archive sits alongside it.
Start with the essentials
Import existing SMS and search saved messages.
Make a manual backup, with optional encrypted Google Drive storage.
Export records to CSV when you need a readable copy.
Local use needs no HashKeep account. Google Drive backup uses your Google account.
Free to start. Pro is a one-time purchase.
The core archive, search, manual backup, restore and CSV export are free, with 30-day local retention. Pro adds longer retention, scheduled Drive backups and PDF export. Google Play shows the price in your currency. No ads.
How restore works today
Messages restore into HashKeep, not Google Messages. For another phone, create a portable Drive backup while you still have the original phone and keep its passphrase. Local file and scheduled backups need the original device key. This release supports SMS text, rather than MMS or RCS.
The gallery shows the actual Android app using demonstration messages.
What kinds of messages do you want to keep? Happy to answer questions and hear how you'd use it.

Who hunted HashKeep?
HashKeep was hunted by Dennis Vorobyov. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
