I built Hànzi because most Chinese name generators stop at a transliteration—or give you a random string of characters with no context.
A Chinese name should be something you can understand, pronounce, and feel comfortable carrying. Hànzi gives you three starting points based on your name and the energy you choose, then explains the characters and the feeling behind each one.
A few things I cared about:
• natural names over literal translations • tone-marked pinyin, not just romanized syllables • meanings explained in plain English • no account and no server-side naming API • a calm, editorial experience instead of a noisy randomizer
I’ve also started a Chinese zodiac guide for people who want to explore the culture around their name. It handles the Lunar New Year boundary for January and February birthdays, and keeps cultural symbolism separate from prediction.
