"Trust me, it's done" is not a verification strategy. Every AI coding session ends with a summary for whoever picks up next. Nothing checks whether it's still true. Handover is a handoff document a machine can verify: anchored to a commit, carrying a command that must pass before anything is marked done. A linter checks it against your live repo. A trap-based benchmark measures whether it actually transfers. No LLM in the enforcement path. Zero dependencies. Apache-2.0.

Top comment

Introducing Handover. I built this after watching an agent audit a git branch 288 commits behind trunk. Almost everything it flagged had already been fixed upstream. It wasn't broken, it just trusted a handoff nobody had checked. Happy to answer anything. If you try it and it breaks, the issue tracker is the contribution I actually want more than an upvote.

Comment highlights

anchoring the handoff to a commit and requiring a real command to pass before marking done is a quietly clever move. glad to see the linter and benchmark are doing the actual work instead of leaning on more model calls.

Thanks a lot everyone for checking it out. I am really excited about this first ever launch and would love any feedback!

Who hunted Handover?

Handover was hunted by harsh pandey. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
