Eighteen days ago I asked r/ChineseLanguage if people would actually want a tool that breaks down a Chinese sentence —not just translation, but vocabulary with pinyin, grammar explanations, and the cultural story behind classicalreferences and idioms. The response surprised me. People really wanted this.
So I built HanClip, a Chrome extension that does exactly that. Right-click any Chinese text on any webpage, get a

Stack: FastAPI + Next.js + DeepSeek, on Railway and Vercel. Zero experience with Chrome extensions or AI products before this. Learned everything along the way.
