# I got tired of task managers that felt like work, so I built my own.
A few months ago, I realized something strange.
Every task manager I tried had plenty of features, but I still didn't enjoy using any of them.
Some were cluttered with features I'd never touch. Others wanted me to create an account before I could even add my first task. A few looked like they hadn't changed in years.
The result?
I'd install them, use them for a few days, and then stop opening them.
So I started building **Halo**.
My goal wasn't to create another productivity system or AI-powered planner. I wanted to build a task manager that felt simple, fast, and enjoyable to use every day.
