The idea came while I was reading Atomic Habits by James Clear, in the passage where the author talks about the effectiveness of making failures public (like the automatic posting system on X when you fail a habit). I realized that the secret is not just the prize when we win, but the discomfort when we fail. The mistake of current apps is trying to be your "friends". They congratulate you on everything, are full of notifications or have so many features that you end up wasting more time configuring the app than meeting your goals. So I created Habit 1984 as a web tool focused on the essential. The name is an allusion to George Orwell's book and the app works like your own "Big Brother": surveillance over your system of habits.
